[Wactclc-primo] issue with Author display in Primo

I don’t want to hijack Dale’s comments so I am starting a new subject line. I was trying to find a similar example to Dale’s of a nickname/full name he had with Debbie/Deborah, and I stumbled on something completely different that’s disturbing. In this Ebsco ebook example, the Author display in Primo is messed up. First, the “Author” field in Primo is incorrectly displaying the author names and I don’t know where it’s getting them from exactly, it seem to be misinterpreting the commas or semicolons in the 100 field of the bib record. Is this something a faulty normalization rule would be causing? Second, the bib record has three authors listed in the 100 field, which is not normal. I believe this is a CZ record. Ugh.

Subject: [External] [Wactclc-alma] Edmonds issues with Headings Enrichment in Primo

Hello,

I am cross posting this message to both the Alma list and the Primo list.

Edmonds decided to try the Headings Enrichment feature; however, we are quite unhappy with the outcome.

I was able to get ExLibris to re-publish my entire database, but the results are definitely not what I expected.

There are sample examples of the kinds of issues we are dealing with on the attached document. I am not trying to figure out where to go from here. I don't know if some of the issues can be fixed by editing normalization rules or not. I also don't know if I will be able to get ExLibris to re-publish my entire database if I decide to turn off Headings Enrichment.

If you have not done the Headings Enrichment yet I would recommend that you review my document, which should help you decide if you really want to.

Happy November!
