[Wactclc-alma] Webinar: The Ex Libris Resource Sharing Directory

Something we can briefly talk about tomorrow...

ExLibris is developing an "in Alma" Resource Sharing Directory, for direct reciprocal borrowing / lending between Alma-based institutions:

And a webinar will be happening this week to introduce.

The use-case for this functionality would be doing ILL with other Alma-based institutions. That could be within our group (though you already offer walk-in service to any CTC student), or with "arm's length" Alma institutions... UW, WWU, WSU, etc. The requirement would be that both partners enroll in this Alma-based Resource Sharing Directory.

I'm not sure how much this offers beyond what you can already do with WorldShare. The main benefit, for those libraries that use Alma to track and circulation ILLS items, would be to skip the WorldShare part. The complication would be that you could only use it with partners using Ama, and using the Resource Sharing Diretory.

But I like the thinking by ExLibris.
