Hey, Gerie! We just started to send items considered lost to ctclink for billing during the last year. We batch send them near the end of quarters and at beginning of quarters. We have found that we are getting significantly more items returned now than we did before sending to ctclink - which is what we really hoped to accomplish. We have it set up with the college so that bills that are only for library materials never get sent to collections. If students owe money from OTHER college fees that trigger a collections letter, the library fees will be included but they can never be the trigger for a collections letter. Xinhang Hu (xhu at bellevuecollege.edu) is the person to ask if you have more questions. -Karen

We pause to acknowledge that Bellevue College resides on the traditional land of the Coast Salish Peoples that includes but is not limited to: Snoqualmie, Suquamish, Duwamish, Nisqually, Tulalip, and Muckleshoot (Smulkamish, Stkamish, Skopamish, and Upper Puyallup) Peoples past and present. We remember their connection to the region and recognize their struggles with systemic oppression. We commit to care for the land and center equity at the core of our (un)learning.

Hello everyone:
How much energy does your library put into "going after" students with lost books? We have Alma and everyone gets the overdue notices and the notice of fee if the book is not returned.
So then do you actively monitor all of those patrons and turn them in to ctcLink to get billed?
Thanks,
Gerie
