Calling ProfTech Faculty: $$ Substantial Funding for Co-authoring or Reviewing Open Textbooks

Project Description

Sponsored by the second round of funding from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) FY22 Open Textbooks Pilot grant, SBCTC is developing additional introductory open textbooks in the ProfTech field, this time we’re seeking faculty in the areas of:

  *   Automotive
  *   Hospitality
  *   Machining

Project Timeline and Compensation

  *   Project runs: January 2023 through May 2024
  *   Compensation: Up to $15,000 per faculty author; up to $2,000 for peer reviewers

Who we are looking for

  *   Faculty members with Washington's community and technical colleges teaching one of the target disciplines including Automotive, Hospitality, and Machining
  *   Committed, growth-minded faculty interested in co-authoring an open textbook in collaboration with other faculty members.
  *   Teams are welcomed and encouraged to apply regardless of the number of team members. Compensation to be adjusted.
