This Olympic College description that Gerie linked looks spot on for this kind of position.



Another good place to source good and recent job descriptions is the jobs page on pnla.org



And while I’m not super familiar with position levels, from my perspective, I would say 4 is a minimum, and 5 would be better. Especially given inflation and the tight labor market.



From my perspective, for any library planning to continue physical services like general circulation, reserves, and equipment loan outs for the long term, having a strong and engaged circulation manager is important.



The complement to that role, and similarly important, would the acquisitions / eresources manager position.



And having these strong and established roles is especially so for libraries that aren’t carrying a true systems librarian on staff, which includes a lot of the institutions.

Does anyone have a recent job posting or job description for a Paraprofessional 3: Public Services they would be willing to share? Circulation manager would also work.



Pending retirement might mean a new opening soon, and it’s been awhile so I have to rebuild the job announcement from scratch.
