Hi all,

Just wanted to share a quick update on WA Checklist and Checklist Guides progress:

  *   The initial draft of Section 1 of the WA Checklist Guides is coming along nicely.  There are still a few gaps (missing examples, citations to write, references to find) but it’s looking good overall.  Thanks again to everyone who has contributed and helped to review content so far!
  *   Last week I completely overhauled the public WA Checklist resources shell<https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/1990829>, so please check out the new look and new info and let me know what you think.

If you’re interested in contributing to WA Checklist project, here are some places I could use your help:

  *   If you or someone you know enjoys writing and would like to contribute to the Checklist Guides …

     *   Please visit the Help Write the WA Checklist Guides module</courses/1990829/modules/6043145> in the resources shell to learn more.
     *   Please also consider participating in one or more of the upcoming WA Checklist Guides Write-a-thon sessions scheduled to begin this Thursday – yep, starts tomorrow!  Pop in and join me in Zoom at your convenience during any of the designated times to contribute Guides content ideas, add a few sentences, or write a full paragraph on the Standard/topic of your choice.  Stay for a few minutes or the entire time - work individually or in a small group.
     *   Please join me in Zoom<https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81259812595> February 18th through Friday, March 5th at one of the following WA Checklist Guides Write-a-thon times:

        *   Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 AM to Noon (2/18, 2/23, 2/25, 3/2, and 3/4)
        *   Fridays from 2:00 - 4:00 PM (2/19, 2/26, and 3/5)

     *   Please consider sharing any Guides text with me that you may have already written or other resources you have collected or developed for your own WA Checklist training courses.

  *   If you know how to use a screen reader or know someone who does …

     *   Please consider volunteering to help me test the accessibility of the tabbed page formatting and expandable menus in Canvas with a screen reader.

  *   If you have faculty, librarians, or instructional designers that would be willing to share examples …

     *   Please consider volunteering an example from your own course or nominating someone to share an example of how they are incorporating a particular WA Checklist Standard in their course. These examples will be housed on the Examples tab for each Standard.  I don’t have a process set up for collecting examples yet, so just reply to this email if you’d like to volunteer or nominate someone.

  *   If you love to read about online course design, excel at finding high quality reference materials, or have a gift for writing APA style citations …

     *   Please consider volunteering to help me round out our suggested reading list and references for each Standard or to rewrite existing references that are not in APA style. These resources will be housed on the Resources tab for each Standard.
