We have a LAPP 3 doing the work Gerie described. She used to be classified as a 4, but there was wonkiness some years back with a statewide reclassification and she was bumped down to a 3. Our HR department is holding firm on that (they seem to be of a mind that the description for a LAPP 4 devalues/negates the role of a library director), which is a bit frustrating. We have an extremely small team--2 full time faculty librarians (one in Wenatchee, one in Omak), 2 LAPP 3s, and one LAPP 2. All the LAPPs are in Wenatchee, so Omak depends on work study student support for additional help, which is tricky for a number of reasons.

We have a Library Technician II that does all the tasks Gerie described originally. In our three-tiered structure, there is room for a Library Technician III that involves project management, but that position has never existed because for as long as it has existed the person in the Tech II role has not been interested in doing any project management.

While we do not have a single person who does all that is listed below, we don't use the LAPP titles (it took several years to transition everyone out of the LAPP series).

Our classified staff are either: program coordinators or Program Specialists.

Functionally we use 'circulation manager,' 'technical services manager,' etc.

Spokane Community College has as LAPP 4 that does all those things, and we still call it a Circulation Supervisor. It's a big job with a lot of moving parts, and I don't love the structure, but its all we've got right now.

We've always stuck to specific, siloed (does one thing) paraprofessional classified job titles at Highline because "that's the way we've always done it."

Does anyone have a full time classified position that does all of these tasks: circulation desk work, orders supplies, pays library bills/requisitions in PeopleSoft? If yes, what is their Job Title?
