[LIBRARYDIR] [EXTERNAL] - Re: curbside pickup and appointments

Hi all-
We’ve been doing curbside technology (laptops, hot spots, webcams) pick-up/drop off since spring quarter and we use our Facilities Office to help with that exchange since the library has been closed. There is a campus-wide effort to grow our technologies which is funded by multiple sources and not the library.

Fall quarter we started “Curbside Book Take-Out” and circulate books for the entire quarter. So far, the demand is minimal and students email us with their requests and pick books up at our Facilities Office similar to technology pick-up.

As of today the library building has reopened to provide students with printing, computers, and minimal Canvas support, however, eLearning and Library services are still remote.

Hi~

   WWCC does mail items--I like sending sealed items helps with quarantine.  We're perhaps odd in that we are not currently doing curbside pickup as we haven't had the demand as of yet.  We are also odd in that my institution decided NOT to invest in learning technologies--like laptops, chromebooks, hotspots, etc. to support students which certainly reduced our need to offer curbside pickup.

Our funding has come from:

 TRiO--exclusive for their students of course.

One more question – Are any of you mailing items?  If so, what is the cost and where did you get funding?   If you considered this but decided not to offer this, what were the issues?
