WA OCLC GROUP SERVICES EXTENDED
The Washington State Library and OCLC are pleased to announce that the Washington OCLC Group Services contract has just been extended for a full five years, with a maximum annual increase of 3.75% locked in. Previous multi-year extensions generally capped increases at 5% per year. The contract also includes a provision that Group members will not be charged a higher rate than that which is imposed on the OCLC membership at large in any given year.
OCLC did not raise prices for the current renewal year (July 2020 through June 2021) but kept costs flat.
Many Washington libraries<https://sos.wa.gov/q/waywho> purchase three basic OCLC services through Washington Group Services: unlimited cataloging, Interlibrary Loan, and WorldCat Discovery subscriptions. For more information, contact Will Stuivenga<mailto:will.stuivenga at sos.wa.gov>.
