Hello,

Although Clark College Event services uses 25Live for booking meeting rooms on campus, the Library staff opted out after completing training because of a number of reasons.  25Live doesn’t allow staff enough control over when the rooms can be booked, isn’t flexible enough to allow for daily/hourly changes and is too complicated for students to use for online bookings.

Access uses Alma booking so that currently registered students can make online reservations for 2 large group study rooms.  There are a couple of problems related to the  availability calendar and having to use a 24 hour clock but it works with minimal explanations by staff.  We  have information for the students http://library.clark.edu/content/large-group-study-rooms-204-212 and created a brief intro on Clark College Libraries webpages. There are a couple of enhancements scheduled and some suggestions on the Idea Exchange that we hope will bring some improvements—especially with the calendar.

The librarians use a shared Outlook calendar for scheduling their classes—and infrequently for other instructors.  We also use a shared Outlook calendar to book our one remaining meeting room with priority for unit staff meetings.

25Live is used for the library class, library laptop carts, and the library event spaces.

Study Rooms are booked using a Google Form, which is tied to a public-facing Google Calendar.

Whatcom too uses 25Live to schedule all library rooms. We have no unmediated interface for student use (we use ‘mobile’ express scheduling for the library rooms to expedite scheduling and time staff spend recording room reservations/use).

Community Colleges of Spokane uses 25Live to schedule space for everything, including library study rooms.  It is a functional, if not wonderful, tool that requires library staff have to make reservations, i.e., we don’t have an unmediated interface for student use.

25Live may be overkill, but it’s the room scheduling platform I’ve heard mentioned most often in the CTC’s:

Good afternoon!
If anyone is using an electronic booking system for group study rooms, would you please contact me?  We are starting to review options including the Crestron panels which are used for equipment controls in all of our classrooms.  We are specifically interested in an online reservation system as well as touch panels that would be located outside each room.  Thanks!
