The article we remember is one where faculty overestimated students' abilities.  They assumed that because students are on social media and were "born digital," they were more competent than they actually are.  We remember a comparison of faculty perceptions and student competencies.  The article you sent is a more realistic perception.

I am searching for an article on faculty perceptions (misperceptions?) of students' research abilities.  I vaguely remember it, but not well enough to hit on the keywords.  I searched Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts; ERIC; Academic Search Premier; the list of articles compiled by Erica; Google; and my own collection of articles, but I can't retrieve it.  Our timeline for finding it is very short so I am reaching out.
