Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] Apologies for my absence

All,
I wanted to take a moment to apologize for my lack of communication and participation in the Assessment In Action discussions/progress as well as any other communications from WACTLC or our directors group.

I lost my father on December 20th to a very sudden heart attack. As we were in the process of grieving and taking care of his estate while trying to find a family or nursing home to move my handicapped mother into, my mother passed away on January 5th. Luckily I was with her the night/morning she passed and we believe she was just ready to join my father (and more stubbornly was not wanting to go to a nursing home). So I have been travelling back and forth to Spokane to deal with all this which has left me less attentive to our ongoing AiA discussions.

Given the tasks I have ahead of me with my parents estate and also hiring a new Librarian to replace Debbie Crumb, my librarian and I have decided to not put in for an AiA grant at this time. Our plates are very full and I just can't take another thing on at the time.

Please keep me in the loop as to anything I can help with and for our future Library Directors meetings.
