[LIBRARYDIR] ACRL Counting Opinions Survey for 2016-2017

Dear LLC Colleagues,

As a member of the ACRL Trends and Statistics Editorial Board, I am writing to encourage you to complete the ACRL Metrics Survey if you have not already done so. The survey deadline is February 28, 2018.

Why is the ACRL Metrics project important and valuable for our libraries to support?  Simply stated, because the data can be used for benchmarking as well as to inform decision-making.  It may even help you make the case for a budget or policy change at your college.  Another important benefit is that the ACRL survey results are synchronized to the IPEDS survey and can be downloaded  and emailed to the IPEDS institutional key holder on your campus. In other words, libraries only need to complete a single set of questions because the ACRL survey includes all of the IPEDS Academic Libraries component questions!
As you know, the data in the ACRL survey can be very useful for academic libraries preparing funding and program requests as well as for research studies for the library profession. With all the Washington state Community College libraries participating in the survey, the value of the data will be enhanced.
