Hello everyone,

Please see below the email I sent to RPC describing the new research website. Feel free to pass this information along to any of your groups who you know use the academic year and fall quarter report data. I will also send to my research counterparts at state agencies and other higher ed institutions.

Thanks,

Darby

Subject: [Researchers] SBCTC research website

Greetings everyone,

The SBCTC research department is proud to announce the launch of our improved website! The main page link is the same https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/research/ but we have made substantial changes in the organization and mode of the content. The goals for the change were to make things easier to find and provide more content by way of utilizing Tableau dashboards and tables when reporting data.

The most substantial change is the way we report the data that historically has been in the academic year and fall quarter enrollment and staffing reports. Those reports up through 2015-16 are still available on a newly labeled page called “Annual Reports Archive” found here:

https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/research/annual-reports-archive/default.aspx

All data from these static reports for 2016-17 going forward are now organized into sections (student progress/completions, enrollment, faculty and staff, and financial data) on a new page, found here:

https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/research/data-public/default.aspx

These sections represent the old “chapters” of the academic year report. Currently, only the enrollment section has been updated with a new Tableau table and the others will be forthcoming in the next few months. The enrollment table is organized by college and reports headcount and FTE with the option to disaggregate based on a variety of selections. This table includes 2016-17 final enrollment numbers back to 2007-08.

We hope that this new format enhances your experience and access to data that you need. If you have any difficulty navigating the tables please feel free to let me know, and keep an eye out for more dashboards to come in the near future.

Best,

Darby
