[LIBRARYDIR] Alma and Primo currently down (as of May 13, 5:30PM)

Alma and Primo returned to regular service at about 8:30pm on Saturday evening.

So, it was about an 8 hour outage.

I haven't yet heard what caused the outage.

But ExLibris releases RCA's (root cause analyses) following all major product outages (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Materials/RCA_Reports/North_America )

So, I'm sure they will publish one for this outage as well.

At this point, I couldn't speculate on the cause, but I expect, due to the outage severity, Ex Libris may put out some informal cause statement to the Alma / Primo community, on the Alma-L and Primo-L listservs.

The message below went out earlier to the C1, C2 and C3 Leads lists as well.

Alma and Primo are currently down for all institutions (including those in implementation), since about 12:30PM on Saturday, May 13.

It appears that most of the North American Alma and Primo servers, hosted at the Ex Libris data center in Chicago, are currently still down, as of the time of this message, about 5:30PM local time.

Current Alma and Primo status info is always publicly available at http://status.exlibrisgroup.com

For Alma, we are on NA02
For Primo, we are on NA08.

I don't have any additional information about cause at this time.

But will share any updates I receive from Ex Libris or elsewhere.
