[LIBRARYDIR] Library Degrees/Certificates

Highline is no longer offering a degree program, as employers weren't requiring it for library paraprofessionals, and our enrollments were low. The department did a program review and developed short term certificates in Public Services and Technical Services, feeling that was a better match for the professional development needs of incumbent library employees wanting to build skills. Enrollments have continued to be soft, so we've suspended those certificates for now.
Interestingly, the area of the program where we continue to have very strong enrollments is in courses required for the school library/media endorsement.

It looks like Highline did drop their program. Thank you all for your feedback. We are working on our curriculum and program review for an upcoming accreditation visit.

Does anyone else NOT have your own library classroom? Or, are we the only ones? : )

Spokane and Highline where the only two I was aware of.  Hadn't heard anything about Highline dropping it.

Edmonds does not offer a library certificate or degree program, or a credit bearing class. It is my understanding that Highline is no longer offering a library certificate program, either.
