[LIBRARYDIR] FW: MSIT question - help please

Hi, All,

Below is more information about DreamSpark from our library staff member who oversees the MSFT Imagine Academy program:

DreamSpark is a benefit of Microsoft Imagine Academy program membership, which most community and technical colleges have licensed through the State Library's funding. Although Microsoft has been somewhat vague about the benefit and how to access it over the years, my understanding is that the level (standard vs. premium) depends on how the software will be used at the College, in terms of your STEM course offerings. There's an application process that Microsoft uses to make the determination. To get started, request for DreamSpark should be sent to WSLITA at microsoft.com<mailto:WSLITA at microsoft.com>.

If the College isn't yet a Microsoft Imagine Academy program member (licensed through the State Library or independently), the State Library would be pleased to add them to our membership. They can contact me at elizabeth.iaukea at sos.wa.gov<mailto:elizabeth.iaukea at sos.wa.gov> to get started.

Please note that both DreamSpark and Microsoft Imagine Academy are licensed campus by campus, so if the school has more than one location they will need multiple licenses (if the program is used at more than one campus)

I hope that helps shed some light.

Thanks,

Elizabeth Iaukea

Subject: [LIBRARYDIR] MSIT question - help please

Still needing clarification on this, so I thought I would post my question again. I'm hoping some kind-hearted library director out there will shed some light on this for me.

I am new to this process... I'm getting renewal notices for MSIT DreamSpark. Do I ignore these since the State Library is covering it? Should our access renew automatically? Do I need to manually renew and pay something? How does this work? Thanks for your help!

Here's a link to a screenshot of the renewal request:

Just FYI - I got married in April, and I recently changed my last name from Weatherford to Harbaugh.
