[LIBRARYDIR] A little fact finding mission - could use some help

Cheyenne,

Highline has roughly double your student FTEs.
We have these librarians:
One Associate Director (who also supervises the circulation department)
One Technical Services librarian (80%)
Four full time reference librarians. We had five, but just had a retirement.
Five part time reference librarians. We've given them a total of 76 hours each week, so roughly two FTE. That's higher than normal for us because we're filling that retirement gap with part timers for now. Normally our part time FTE is about one.

We didn't get additional funding for a position to support the BAS programs, but we did get a significant annual allocation for collection development.

Good luck!

Monica

Cheyenne,

Good morning. Clark has 5 FT Reference and Instruction Librarians and 1 FT Systems and Technical Services Librarian. We also have ~40% funding for adjunct reference librarians.

Michelle

Good morning all,
I am putting in a proposal to our new VPI as to why the college should fund the part-time librarian they told us to hire for our two new BAS programs (they proposed it but never attached any funds to pay for this position and haven't increase my budget to cover the costs) and I would like to add in a piece about how we have been treading water with just 2 full-time faculty librarians (with me also doing double duty as the Library Program Coordinator) for an FTE of 3100 students.
If you don't mind, could you please shoot me off an email telling me how many full or part-time/adjunct librarians you currently have at your institutions? I can see all your FTEs from the spreadsheets on the Alma/Primo project. So just looking to help my case why it wouldn't kill our college to actually fund a part-time librarian, bringing us up to 2.5 librarians.

Thanks in advance
