Dear CTC Family,

Hello and hope you are well for this first week of November. We have approx. 300 people getting ready for the 2021 Fall Guided Pathways Retreat on November 8th and 9th. High-five, fam!

November 8th and 9th Guided Pathways Retreat:

As you know, we are excited to welcome everyone to the Guided Pathways retreat on November 8th and 9th. Please accept your invite to the Guided Pathways Canvas shell at https://sbctc.instructure.com/courses/2140620.

We introduced any material that would require or suggest pre-preparation. Please review the items called, ACTIVITY (Prework). Those activity areas have been made visible (since we started adding participants to the Canvas) to clearly provide time and space to collect the information to support your respective learning and community building. There are some elements in there that might prompt you to bring or think about disaggregated data, reviewing your Guided Pathway purpose statement, your understanding of the SBCTC vision statement, "leading with racial equity..." means to you and your colleagues. Why is it important?

Day 1 materials will open for viewing on Monday, November 3rd. Are you excited? We are.

January 27 and 28 Guided Pathways Retreat (Cohort 1 and 2):

We are enthused to announce that Dr. Al Solano will be working with us to support the virtual Winter 2022 retreat on January 27th and 28th. Learn more about Al Solano's at https://www.continuous-learning-institute.com/about.

REFLECTION:
Lastly, I ask that we think about, what are the risk for "me" and "I" as an individual to listen with actionable intention - given my power, positionality, status, sphere of influence - knowing "I" represent an institutional culture? How will and can "I" use "my" privilege, as a [title] at a Predominately White Institution (PWI) cultured space, to move the work forward of closing institutional equity gaps?

The value of your personal time is priceless, please feel obliged to not reply to this email outside of your working hours.

Respectfully and Humbly,
