We are thrilled to announce that Julie Otsuka<https://www.julieotsuka.com/>, the best-selling author of our selection for the 2020 NEA Big Read at Highline College<https://library.highline.edu/bigread2020>, will be joining us virtually on Tuesday, May 19, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm (PST), to read from and discuss her powerful novel, When the Emperor was Divine<https://www.julieotsuka.com/when-the-emperor-was-divine/>, a fictional retelling of the U.S. government’s wrongful incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.
