Julie Otsuka</a>, the best-selling author of our selection for the <a href="https://library.highline.edu/bigread2020" target="_blank">
2020 NEA Big Read at Highline College</a>, will be joining us virtually on <b>Tuesday,</b>
<b>May 19, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm (PST),</b> to read from and discuss her powerful novel,
<i><a href="https://www.julieotsuka.com/when-the-emperor-was-divine/" target="_blank">When the Emperor was Divine</a></i>, a fictional retelling of the U.S. government’s wrongful incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II.
