Hi Colleagues,

HEFAC had a phone conference meeting today. There was a debriefing on legislative sessions. Since Terry has already posted a debriefing legislative sessions, I skip that part.

-An interesting effort by WSAC is the applying for a grant from Lumina Foundation to help out adult learners who have some college credits but have not completed college to come back to school.

-April 19th is the Council meeting of the WSAC held at Evergreen College.

-Finally, here is a list of the upcoming conferences provided by Noreen that might be of interest you. I know Jen has already mentioned to everyone the ATL Conference in Spokane.

Are you a faculty member wondering about Guided Pathways?

You hear people talking about Guided Pathways, but it seems you have to read an entire book to understand it . . . and you've got papers to grade!

*         What is Guided Pathways?

* How are colleges across the nation developing a Guided Pathways model?

Attend Guided Pathways 101, a concurrent session at the upcoming 2017 ATL Conference<https://goo.gl/a5WByk>!

EvCC faculty leaders will help you develop your GP Genius Quotient so that the rest of the conference . . . and your institution's guided pathways implementation . . . will get you the results you want!

It's Not Too Late to Register!

Registrations received ON OR BEFORE April 14, 2017

Pre-conference workshop fee: $65
Conference fee: $225

Registrations received AFTER April 14, 2017

Pre-conference workshop fee: $85

Conference fee: $250

You can register any time . . . even on the day of the conference!

After GP 101 . . . join faculty from around Washington State for Guided Pathways 102, where EvCC faculty will host a collaborative discussion to explore how

* institutions are building the elements of Guided Pathways

* disciplines are grouped together into a pathway

Swap notes with other faculty on the benefits and challenges they are experiencing as Guided Pathways is developed in differing ways at colleges across the state.

Share what you know about your institution, find out what others are up to, and take home some new ideas and contacts from other colleges.

Pathways Strand
This year we have a "Pathways" strand, so your conference experience can be ALL PATHWAYS ALL THE TIME.

Choose 3 of 6 concurrent sessions . . .

Passionate about student learning communities? Learn about how faculty at Tacoma Community College are using this best practice in their design of guided pathways!

Can you serve multiple math pathways in ONE Math Classroom? Carlea McAvoy at South Puget Sound has a vision and materials you can use right away!

Pierce College . . . A Pathway to Pathways: Metaphor and story . . . it's how we learn. Participants in this session will learn the story of Pierce's implementation path . . . with a focus on using analysis of significant data to engage stakeholders, shift culture, and foster strong leadership at every level.

The Power of Shared Practices: One of the benefits of shared practices across departments and disciplines is that students do not have to "re-invent the university" or "reboot" in every course they take, deepening their learning. Learn how Cascadia created 5 common, required, LMS-Embedded assignments in their student success course.

Pre-Conference Workshop
This three hour workshop, Putting the Pieces Together: Guided Pathways, Student Voices, and Teaching and Learning, features Heather Roberson<https://web.spcollege.edu/instructors/id/roberson.heather>, faculty leader at St. Petersburg College.

This workshop is the same workshop CCCSE offers at the prestigious AAC&U Pathways Institutes<http://www.aacc.nche.edu/Resources/aaccprograms/pathways/Pages/PathwaysInstitutes.aspx> . . . for the low cost of $65 per person.
