The district serves 6,780 students in grades kindergarten through 12 and offers free preschool in district schools. We are now seeking an extraordinary leader to take our work in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion to the next level.  The District has been focused on expanding our work in the area of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion for the last four years.  Our new Director of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion<https://humancapitalenterprises.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=883bf5945a711d49d7f2aa81c&id=4894ea3a28&e=ffafeea3de> will oversee this truly impactful work across all areas of the District.

Our district includes six elementary schools, two middle schools and one comprehensive high school. Student achievement across the district has steadily improved over the past dozen years, boosted by robust competitive grant awards that fund many STEAM programs for students, both during and beyond the school day and school year. In 2014, the district was named a National STEM Showcase district by the U.S. Department of Education, one of just three districts across the country to be recognized.

Accolades include a national Model School designation in 2018; the first gold-certified LEED school in the state; and a 2014 & 2019 elementary school principal of the year for the State of Oregon.

Serving a population that is 60% economically disadvantaged, 35% Latino, and 14% English learners, the district consistently outperforms SBAC state averages for historically underserved populations.  As a community we are immensely proud of the results of the very hard work that is driven by our teachers, students, staff and stakeholders -- and we are humbled that we now serve as model for many other districts across the region.
