Dear all,
Yes, we would love to have you! It is an event that I believe is important for our BIPOC students, about building community resilience. I have seen that sometimes the mental wellness resources on our campuses do not include relevant options to students who do not have a cultural framework for the western-oriented healing practices. This event is very exciting because we have a guest speaker from India, who is also an international peace-keeper, sharing his time to address the unique challenges in higher education around emotional resilience from a different perspective!

Please reach out if you have any questions, and It would be our pleasure to have you, should you be able to come.
Warm regards,
Brinda

The featured speaker is global humanitarian and UN sanctioned peace-keeper, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar. His repertoire of accolades include international conflict mediation, designing and instructing programs centered in human values and ethical leadership taught in 156 countries globally, and 101 colleges in the United States, as well as receiving 24 honorary doctorate degrees from Universities around the world. In addition to meeting a leader in human-values based education, this will be an ideal chance to tap into a professional network in our area that is committed to developing individual and collective resilience on our campuses.

The event is called "Finding Calm in Chaos", followed by a private reception for higher education leaders at Kane Hall on June 18th with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar<https://www.srisriravishankar.org/>. The event is being hosted by SKY at UW, a wellness club at UW, in collaboration with UW Medicine. The event will feature two sessions:

1. 11 AM - 12:15 PM: An interactive session with Gurudev at Kane Hall 130 (Roethke Auditorium) on topics related to mental well-being and building emotional resilience in higher education

2. 12:30 PM - 1:15 PM: A private reception at Walker Ames Room, Kane Hall with Gurudev and higher education leaders to explore pathways to well-being and empathy within our Universities and Colleges.

You are cordially invited for the all-campus event at 11am, and the leadership reception reserved for directors, deans, VPs and presidents at 12:30pm. Your presence and representation from your college will be greatly valued, in a time of immense need for mindful, dynamic, and strong leadership. Please RSVP here <http://leadersreceptionuw.rsvpify.com/> if you are able to attend.
