Dear Community and Technical Colleges Family,

May this message find your heart and mind in a hopeful place for continued growth. We received notice from the Student Success Network that the U.S. Department of Labor is seeking grant applications for the third round of "the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Program" (SCC3) to "build capacity for [community and technical colleges] to address identified equity gaps and meet the skill development needs of employers in in-demand industries and career pathways leading to quality jobs."

I know you are doing innovative Guided Pathways work and have addressed in your plans the need to move the career pathways conversations to the beginning and throughout the student lifecycle. Additionally, many of you have shared the need to incorporate high-impact practices to support student interest and industry needs that lead with equity. Thus, this is a fantastic opportunity. The Strategic Initiatives and Student Success Center are excited about the opportunity to see how the Washington Community and Technical Colleges could be represented.

Please find the link to more information on the application details: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/eta/skills-training-grants/scc.

Please find the link to the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Program (SCC2) FOA on grants.gov at: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=336701.

Previous award allocations for Strengthening Community Colleges Training Program (SCC1) grants were up to $2 million for a single institution and up to $5 million for consortium applicants. Applications are due on Friday, October 14, 2022.

So excited. Secretly desirous to be at a community and technical college right now to specifically apply for this grant. Great opportunity. Much heart on your Ever-evolving Journey (Constellations framework, 2020).

The value of your personal time is priceless; please feel obliged not to reply to this email outside of your working hours.

Respectfully and Humbly,

Claudine Richardson, Ph.D., M.S., M.P.A.
