Good Afternoon,

A new masking approach is being implemented in order to mask Level 4 data elements including Social Security Numbers, Date of Birth, Bank Accounts, Driver's Licenses, Visa Work Permits, Net Pay, Garnishments, Accommodations, Disabilities, Passwords, Credit Card Numbers, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Immunization Information. This update will change the way end users will see these elements depending on what permissions the user has. These changes will be released in batches with this first batch impacting approximately 50 different navigations within ctcLink.

SBCTC will be creating a supporting document that includes further information on the changes the user will experience.

Pending the outcome of testing, the tentative implementation date for the first phase of the Masking Upgrade in production is on July 14th. If you are interested in learning more about these changes, SBCTC will host two UAT sessions to allow users to get hands on experience with the system changes on the following dates:

Masking UAT Session 1
Thursday, July 7, 2022 10:00AM - 3:00PM | (UTC-07:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Join Session 1<https://sbctc.webex.com/sbctc/j.php?MTID=mc3ded6e3682deb26ccacd51fb2bebb25>

Masking UAT Session 2
Monday, July 11, 2022 10:00AM - 3:00PM | (UTC-07:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada)
Join Session 2<https://sbctc.webex.com/sbctc/j.php?MTID=mdd8d5903fa729a0c1799ae1b7eb00245>

The first hour of the sessions (10:00AM - 11:00AM) will be an informational presentation on the changes users will see. The remaining time is for users to partake in hands-on testing, our team will be present during the entire session for support and to answer any questions. Please feel free to join the meeting at any time during the session to participate in the hands-on testing. Users do not need to be present for the entire time.

Please send a list of user ID's of who plans to attend a session and participate in hands-on testing to cstein at sbctc.edu<mailto:cstein at sbctc.edu> by the end of day Friday, July 1st, 2022. This communication will also be sent out to the CS and Security Administration listservs.

The UAT sessions are optional, however we encourage users who are affected by these changes to attend. SBCTC will be sending out the link to the Masking Overview document once it is complete.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the functionality included in the Masking Overview document.

Thank you!
