Hi Brandon,
Can you clarify how you define this?...

"change course and/or class fees for a term after enrollment has begun"

Your note goes on to say it's OK to edit adjustment calendars, waiver groups, or dollar amounts... and tuition calculation will handle those types of adjustments. Specifically, what change(s) trigger the need to build new sections and re-enroll students? Would addition of a new fee (where no fee existed before) trigger this?

Our Board of Trustees approves next year's lab/course fees well after enrollment opens for next fall. As a result, we routinely edit lab/course fees after fall enrollment begins. Tuition calculation handles those changes just fine. If you could clarify specific kinds of fee changes that require building new class sections, that would be great.

Thank you,

Subject: [Ctclinkcssupport] A note on Course/Class Fees

Greetings from the State Board SF Team,

This is a service announcement regarding course/class fees in ctcLink.

If there is a need to change course and/or class fees for a term after enrollment has begun, a new class section will need to be created and the students will need to be moved to that new section. Unfortunately, if there is a change to fees after enrollment has started, we are seeing it create multiple lines on student accounts. The system has a hard time distinguishing some of the changes and causes tuition calculation to fail, sometimes for your institution and sometimes for all institutions.

Of course, there are some exceptions to this rule. If there is a missing field within the course/class fee set up page like adjustment calendar or waiver group, you should be able to update the missing field without the need to create a new section. Or, if it is just a change in the dollar amount associated with the fee, that is ok as well. Tuition calculation can handle those types of adjustments.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know or log a ticket.

Thank you,
Your SF Support Team
