* State Project Improvement Grant
Eligibility
The grants are open only to state agencies, including Washington public institutions of higher education.
Grants support state agencies' ability to incorporate greater energy efficiency and conservation measures into budgeted and approved capital projects.
The program pays for the difference in cost for eligible agencies and state higher education institutions to add measures and/or improved mechanical systems expected to reduce consumption and carbon emissions.
This solicitation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. The proposed project must be considered to have a realistic scope, cost, and timeline, and produce meaningful energy savings.
Applicants with Tier 1 buildings - those over 50,000 sq. ft. and required to comply with the Clean Buildings Performance Standard - will be prioritized
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as long as funding remains. Applications for other buildings will also be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and put on a waitlist. That second set of reviews will begin 4 weeks after the application period opens.
The grant performance period will be July 31, 2024 - June 30, 2025.
Applications must include:
Clean Buildings Form F for Tier 1 Buildings or LCCA Life Cycle Cost Tool for others
Description of baseline project, alternative project, and budget.
Tentative schedule

* May 27, 2024 - Pre-Application Conference; Q&A period begins. Information to come about participating in the conference.
* Early June - Tier 1 applications reviewed on first-come, first-served basis as funding available
* June 20, 2024 - Review of Tier 2 buildings begins if funding is available
Second half June - Award notifications will be made as they are approved
