Outdoor water use peaks during the summer, which raises water bills and strains water supplies. Sarah LaVoy with EPA's WaterSense program will provide information on how to design and maintain attractive, healthy landscapes while minimizing irrigation and water losses during the dry summer months and throughout the year.

Featured speakers will include Frank Kinder from Northern Water in Colorado, who will introduce the water district’s water-wise landscape programs, and Mike Kocsis from Fairway Ridge Homeowner’s Association (HOA), who will talk about how they used a grant from Northern Water to transform part of their community’s common landscapes from water-intensive turf into water-efficient gardens. Mr. Kocsis will also discuss how his HOA works with their landscape contractor and manages their irrigation system to save water and utility costs year over year.

Speaker:

  * Kersey Manliclic, U.S. EPA WaterSense program
  * Sarah LaVoy, U.S. EPA WaterSense program
  *   Frank Kinder, Northern Water
  * Mike Kocsis, Fairway Ridge HOA
