Access For All Students All The Time
As Washington State employees we are all responsible for ensuring all information technology (this includes all electronic documents) are accessible. To assist you in becoming familiar with how a recently established policy affects Whatcom Community College and the work you do. Ward Naf and Kerri Holferty will cover the following topics:
*        Students with disabilities at WCC
*        Policy 188
*        Assistive Technology
*        Microsoft Office and Accessibility
*        Putting it in to practice - Creating and converting documents to meet ADA compliance

Wednesday, January 10,  3pm-4:30pm-CAS 126
Friday, February 16,  1:30pm-3pm-CAS 123A
Tuesday, March 13, 10am-11:30am-LDC 211

This workshop is a prerequisite for: "Advanced MS-Word Accessibility" and "PowerPoint Accessibility"

Advanced MS-Word Accessibility*
This course will go over accessibility features built into Microsoft Word, and provide participants with an in-depth training on how to use them. The course is designed for all levels of users that utilize Word to create documents for use inside and outside the college. During this hands on workshop, participants will correct inaccessible documents and learn how to use the following features and others in an accessible way:
*         Using the new accessibility ribbon to make documents accessible easier
*        Introduction and basics of how to use a screen reader
*        Use of tables in accessible ways
*        How to format documents accessibly
*        Using Styles, and modifying styles
*        Making fillable forms in Word
*        Correctly converting documents to accessible PDF's
