Greetings All,

I appreciate the responses! Thank you so much!

Let me clarify my question. I apparently had end of the week brain. Can students make progress on their associate degree at the same time as their BAS degrees in your college's financial aid models?

Warmest regards,

I would like to acknowledge the people whose land we are gathered on today. Present day Des Moines is located on the traditional village sites of the Muckleshoot, Duwamish, Puyallup and many other tribes who made their homes on these lands and along these waters.

Let us also acknowledge the robust Indigenous communities made up of tribal diversity that originate from around the country, and whose journeys have brought them here and to other locations by ways of forced displacement or seeking opportunities.

Today the same communities celebrate their heritage, showing resilience and tenacity that would be greatly admired by their ancestors.

Tanya,

The BAS programs I work with have a mix of lower and upper division courses. Students typically start the program with 30cr general education and 60cr proficiency (prof tech in an accepted area). This means, at a minimum, they are moving through the BAS courses but also typically taking one lower division course at the same time. We offer a high/low tuition wherein they get a discount on the lower division course as long as they are concurrently enrolled in the upper division courses.

As long as the lower division courses are required for the BAS, financial aid should cover them since the 4-year degree is aid eligible.

Thanks,
KDN

Hello Tanya,
There is a tuition calculator for this on the sbctc website. Here is the link:

Is this what you are referring to?

Subject: [BLC] BAS & Financial Aid

Greetings All,

I was curious how many colleges/programs have the ability to have students completing associate and bachelor level credits funded with financial aid?

Thinking about how students at traditional four year colleges are able to be funded by financial aid while completing freshman/sophomore year courses while taking junior and senior courses at the same time.
