[BLC] BAS Student Perspectives Survey

Dear Colleagues,

I apologize to the folks who may be getting this request twice (and thank you to those who have already sent this to your students!).

As many of you know, I am currently working on my dissertation at UW Tacoma. For my project, I am interested in surveying our students in an effort to gain a better understanding of their perspectives and experiences in our BAS programs. Specifically, the survey asks students about why they chose to enroll in their BAS program, what experiences have they had while in the program, what kinds of institutional supports they are using, and what kinds of institutional supports they would use if their college offered it. The hope is that, as BAS program leadership, we will be able to use the results to develop best practices in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our programs.

Will you help me reach students by forwarding the survey to them?

To make it easier for you (or your program/faculty designee), you are welcome to use the following message when forwarding the survey to your students. You are also welcome to change/personalize the salutation, as it will make it more likely that students will respond. Current BAS students and graduates are welcome to take the survey. The survey will be open until October 31st.

If needed, I will be happy to work with your college IRB folks prior to you sending out the survey.

Dear Students,

We would like to get your feedback about your experience in your BAS program. Your feedback will be used to identify areas of needed support and improve programs for future BAS students. While the survey is completely voluntary, any student who completes the survey will be given a $5.00 Amazon gift card! All responses will be kept confidential and results will shared in aggregate; personally identifiable information will not be included in the results. There are 25 questions and it should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
