Subject: EARLY RELEASE: SEAG Program and SSEH Request for Applications

Good afternoon,

The 2019-21 Student Emergency Assistance Grant (SEAG) Program and 2019-21 Supporting College Students Experiencing Homelessness (SSEH) applications will be released 9/13/2019 in the Online Grant Management System<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/> (OGMS). Please see your campus OGMS security contact for access to FY20 applications. Your OGMS security contact<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx> must give you access to each application, each year. For those of you who were expecting these on September 19th, we are releasing them early to give everyone as much time as possible for proposal development.

2019-21 Student Emergency Assistance Grant (SEAG) Program
Second Substitute House Bill 1893 establishes the Emergency Assistance Grant program, which provides community and technical colleges funding to assist students experiencing unforeseen emergencies or situations affecting the student's ability to attend classes. Find more information on the SBCTC application webpage<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/grants/student-emergency-assistance-grant-program.aspx>.

2019-21 Supporting Students Experiencing Homeless (SSEH) Pilots
Second Substitute Senate Bill 5800 creates the opportunity for pilot programs at four community or technical colleges and two 4-year universities to support students experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Colleges selected to participate in the pilots must provide information to students on existing community resources and may also establish plans to develop surplus property for affordable housing. Colleges not selected to participate in the pilot are invited to participate voluntarily and encouraged to submit data required of pilot program participants to further our understanding of student needs and guide recommendations. Selected colleges will participate in a learning community with the 4-year universities during the pilot and will work with the SBCTC to develop reports and recommendations for the legislature. Find more information on the SBCTC application webpage<https://www.sbctc.edu/colleges-staff/grants/supporting-college-students-experiencing-homelessness.aspx>.
