[BFET] FFY17 BFET Funds Reallocation

Good morning,

Thank you for completing the recent BFET funding survey. Revised FFY17 BFET funding based on the survey is attached.  Decreases were voluntary.  Increases in the General and Tuition categories were reallocated based on the colleges request level and the level of funding returned in those categories. No funds were returned in the Participant Reimbursement category.

SBCTC will adjust grant amounts in OBIS<file:///\\nas-oly-1\common.edu\Workforce\PROGRAMS\WorkFirst\Communication%20Templates\apps.sbctc.edu\obis> in the next day or so.  Once your grant amount is adjusted in OBIS, your college will receive an automated award increase/decrease notification from OBIS.  After you receive that automated email, please go into OBIS to create and submit a budget revision request so that your budget reflects the new grant amount.  Please submit your budget revision request no later than Friday, March 24, 2017.

As we approach the end of the Jan-Mar 2017 billing cycle, and you have a fuller picture of your FFY17 expenditures, please be closely reviewing your current budget status. If you find that you might have unused funds for the year, we anticipate that you will return them, so they can be reallocated throughout the system. With this in mind, I have attached the current BFET Billing Status report, showing the percent of your budget remaining after the Oct-Dec 2016 billing, or after the first 25% of the year. If your percent of budget is greater than 75%, this may be an indicator of the possibility of unused funds for this year. A new funding survey will be released after this quarter's billing is completed.
