Hello all,



I’m the IT Accessibility Coordinator at Olympic College and have been here 1-year now.  I look forward to meeting others doing similar work at the 33 other colleges in the SBCTC system so that we can share best practices and provide peer support to each other.  This afternoon I’ve been requesting VPATS from some vendors of public records software and looking over the demo of one of those products.



Prior to Olympic I worked at DO-IT and Accessible Technology Services at the University of Washington for 22 years doing assistive technology and closed caption promotion work.

Hello all,



My name is Monica Olsson and I am the new Policy Associate for Accessibility at the State Board focusing on IT accessibility initiatives. I am reviving the “ATCoord” e-list and you are on it! You are receiving this email because you’ve been previously subscribed to this list and have been identified as an accessible IT or Policy 188 Coordinator person at your college.

Who is this e-list for?

This space is for people that have been assigned the role of IT Accessibility Coordinator at their college. This includes Policy 188 Coordinators, Accessible IT and Assistive Technology staff.

What do we do here?

The goal of this space is for Accessible IT professionals within the ctc system to connect, ask questions, and share resources. For example, if you have a question about reviewing PDF documents for accessibility, how to manage video captioning on your campus, or would like tips on how to talk to a vendor about their product’s accessibility during procurement, this is the place to do that!



This is not a place to discuss things like how to determine appropriate accommodation for a student or say, Service Animal policies. Those discussions are more appropriate to take place among disability service and student accommodation professionals at your college.
