Greetings! Please share the below with any faculty and staff who may intersect with students interested in going into public health, medicine, or dentistry. Please note that the informational webinar is coming upon us very soon but the attached materials and the website www.shpep.org<http://www.shpep.org> have useful information as well. Please note that this program is designed for students not necessarily earning A grades who may not see these fields as possibilities due to barriers faced. Students from community and technical colleges get an advantage in the application process and there is a significant increase in CTC students participating.

Hello Advisers!
The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) is 6-week summer enrichment program for college freshmen and sophomores interested in the health professions (including community colleges and 4 year colleges).  Scholars learn about the application process for medicine, dentistry and public health at the UW site and participate in shadowing and hands-on experiences such as Stop the Bleed and other simulation labs. The program is free to students and they are paid a $1000 stipend.  The application closes February 5 and can be found at www.shpep.org<http://www.shpep.org>.  Please share this opportunity widely.
