ABOUT THE COLLEGE:

Green River College has four locations, including the main campus in Auburn and satellite learning centers in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, high school completion students, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Green River's service areas are increasingly diverse. This includes minoritized and marginalized communities, and the increasingly diverse populations that make up Green River's community.

The Vice President of Student Affairs is a key member of the College's executive leadership team, reporting directly to the College President. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership to deliver responsive, equity and student-centered services and programs that serve our diverse local and global communities. The Vice President oversees the Student Affairs division, including critical functions aimed at enhancing student enrollment, development, and success. The Vice President contributes to campus leadership to support advancement of the College's strategic goals and priorities and fulfillment of its equity-center mission.

Position Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision
*       Provide leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for all areas of the Student Affairs division including, Recruitment and Outreach, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, Placement and Testing Center, Career and Advising, Running Start and College in the High School, Athletics and Recreation, Office of Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Student Life and Wellness, Auxiliary Services (Bookstore, Conference & Event Services), Disability Support Services, Judicial Affairs and Compliance, TRIO, and Veteran Services.
*       Foster a student-centered philosophy throughout the division and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to ensure services and programs effectively meet the evolving needs of our students.
*       Model and implement effective performance management strategies such as coaching, mentoring, team building, and professional development to enhance leadership and innovation capacity within the division.
*       Directly supervise key Student Affairs personnel, including, but not limited to, the Deans of Enrollment and Completion and Campus Life.


Strategic Enrollment Management and Operational Planning


*       Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, equity-centered strategic enrollment plan in collaboration with college-wide stakeholders, guided by the principles of Guided Pathways.
*       Develop, implement, and assess the division's Operational Plan in collaboration with the Student Affairs leadership team, executive team, and the College Strategic Planning Action and Recommendation Council (SPARC).
*       Plan, develop, and administer the annual budgets for functional areas within the Student Affairs division, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.
*       Collaborate to initiate and implement innovative strategies and practices that support equity and student success.
*       Provide leadership in planning and decision-making based on data, institutional research, and an awareness of emerging technologies and trends.

Compliance and Oversight

*       Serve as the Student Title IX Coordinator
*       Provide direction and support for the Assistance and Care Committee.
*       Monitor legal compliance (FERPA, Title IX, Clery, Student Conduct)
*       Oversee student information systems and data management that ensure proper collection, maintenance, protection, and use of student data.
*       Ensure areas of responsibility operate effectively within the policies and procedures of the College and applicable governing agencies as well as state and federal laws.

College Representation

*       Represent the College on the Washington State Student Services Commission and at other appropriate local, state, and regional meetings, external agencies, and boards.
*       Provide administrative oversight of Commencement and participate in the Commencement ceremony.
*       Develop and strengthen partnerships with local business, community organizations, and educational institutions.
*       Serve on the Campus Corner Apartments (student housing) Coordinating Council.
*       Serve as an active member on the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)


Executive Leadership

*       Serve as a strategic thought partner with the President and members of executive leadership team, collaborating closely to provide strategic leadership in college-wide operations and equity-centered strategic goal implementation.

*       Share executive leadership responsibility in the Strategic Planning Action and Recommendation Council (SPARC), building connection and communication between and among campus governance partners: Instructional Council, College Council, Green River Diversity and Equity Council (GDEC), Guided Pathways Advisory Team (GPAT).

*        Cultivate and maintain effective cross-college collaborative relationships.
Help build and promote a campus culture of equity and respect for differences and foster an inclusive campus community.
Share executive leadership responsibility to meet accreditation standards through achieving excellence in teaching and learning and advancing equity and student success.

*        Lead projects, committees, or task forces as assigned by the President.

Required Education and Experience:
*       Master's degree from an accredited institution
*       Five years of progressive leadership in higher education
*       Three years of experience in supervision, coaching, and team leadership

*       Success in strategic enrollment management
*       Success in cultivating collaborative relationships

Preferred Qualifications:
*       Certification as a Title IX Investigator and Coordinator
