Hello BFET Team!

The FFY24 Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET) Program application will be released tomorrow, June 22, 2023, in the Online Grant Management System<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/> (OGMS).

Please see your campus OGMS security contact for access to the FFY24 application. Your OGMS security contact<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/SecurityContacts.aspx> must give you access to each grant application, each year. When you log into OGMS, be sure to navigate to the FFY24 screen to find the correct application. After you have access to OGMS and the application, the OGMS user manual<https://ogms.sbctc.edu/docs/OGMS_UserManual.pdf> can answer other questions you may have about using OGMS.

Please read the below information prior to beginning your grant application as issues may delay processing.

IMPORTANT DATES

June 22, 2023 – Program  application available

August 3, 2023 – Program applications due no later than 11:55 pm*

October 1, 2023 – Program start date

September 30, 2024 – Program end date

*SBCTC staff are only available to assist until 4:00 pm.

Here are some import items to keep in mind as you complete your program application:

  * Be sure to read all instructions and requirements prior to starting your application.
  * Use the FINAL version of the FFY24 BFET DSHS Budget Workbook, SBCTC BFET Fiscal Guideline and SBCTC BFET Program Guidelines for reference throughout your application.
  * In your OGMS program application, you must use the exact budget numbers that you see in the attached document (also available in the Grant Info section of OGMS). These are based on the numbers submitted to SBCTC in your final DSHS budget workbook. However, you may notice your BFET planning numbers are $1 more or less. This is due to rounding. Budget numbers reflect the 50% amount reimbursable by FNS (this is the maximum amount you can bill up to).
  *   Narrative should reflect 100% of local non-federal expenditures and;
     * Identify where applicable, the total cost per student and number of students anticipated to be served and non-federal sources you will be leveraging (this is the same information and numbers you indicated in your FFY24 BFET Budget Workbook).
     * Identify 100% salary amount, and then salaries and benefits by FTE, percentage or dollar amounts (example .2 FTE, 20%, or $8,000) for each staff being paid in whole, part, or leveraged by BFET. Additionally make sure that each staff’s duties are represented. Each position should be separate. Ex: If you have 3 Navigators, there should be 3 lines of navigators, not one line with 2.5 FTE’s.

NOTE: Positions included must provide services unique to BFET participants and may not include services offered to the general student population at no cost.

You must upload the following items with your grant application:

  *   BFET Program Assurances
  *   Data Security Agreement
  * Any BFET Program Alternate Form (if using for FFY24) – forms must be submitted regardless of prior years’ approvals. If you do not submit any form(s) it will be assumed that you are NOT using an alternate form for FFY24.
  * Federally Approved Indirect Letter (this must be uploaded if you intend to bill for more than the allowable 5%)
  *   BFET Matrix
