Happy New Year my esteemed colleagues!

I'm so excited to announce the details for this year's annual conference coming up this spring. We will be coming together again at the serene Rainbow Lodge to learn some new skills to engage students through art therapy. This training is specifically tailored to tools and strategies that we can utilize within the brief counseling model that our treatment settings require. Please view the attached flyer for further details. I highly recommend submitting early for both time off and professional development funding to ensure that you're able to attend this high-value conference.

This year we are looking for some select individuals to join our steering committee and we'd like you to start considering if you or someone you know would be a good fit. We will be looking to fill our Treasurer and Eastern Regional Representative positions. The time commitment for this is minimal (usually one phone conference a month) and yet the reward is high both in offering a regular touch stone with colleagues from across the state and in learning so much about the inner workings of our organization. Please feel free to reach out to myself or any currently serving steering committee member for more information.

In keeping with this year's theme, we are also going to be encouraging several different means by which to activate and express your creative potential. First, we are having a logo design contest. This organization has been well known for doing vital work statewide for many years, yet has never had a visual representation to use for recognition and promotion. Please start brainstorming now! We will gather all submissions and vote on a winner at the conference. Also, we invite each of you to bring an example of your artistic outlets to the conference with you. These can be used throughout the conference as a release, shared with others and called on as examples. There will be additional art supplies provided for you, but we're interested in seeing what works for you and makes you unique!

I'm looking forward to another great year, thank you for being part of it!
