API use is a great topic for the Training meeting on Oct. 10!

I will look into how to use Alma User Note Remover and be ready to share out next week.

I'm glad we're finally getting some resolution to this weirdness from May.

FYI, everyone - see below for the response I got from Ex Libris related to deleting all of those pesky patron profiles. I guess I need to go reteach myself how the API's work...

And, the parameter to turn off those patron notices is found in Configuration | User Management | Other Settings

In that mapping table, go to # 30 show_profile_in_user_notes - set that to false.

Dear Elena,

A new comment has been added to case 06908694<https://support.proquest.com/500Do00000Cc68yIAB>.

Case Title: Chat - Is there a way to do a mass deletion of patron profile notes
Last Comment:
Hi Elena

Unfortunately, there is no Alma job to remove the Notes created in the meantime the new functionality was active.

There is an API mentioned in the Developee Network, called "Alma User Note Remover" and recently a customer posted: "Just following up that this program continues to work great in 2023 and was very useful for deleting patron user notes in this format that started showing up in May 2023: Profile name: Patron, Profile ID: xxxxxx"

Here is the link to the mentioned page: https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/alma-user-note-remover/

I hope this information helps! Please let us know if you run into any issues or if you have any additional questions. If not, this case will automatically close in 2 weeks time.

Best regards,
Fabiana

Is there a way to do a mass deletion of patron profile notes. A bunch were added that have Profile name: Patron, Profile ID and we don't want them there anymore.

We understand that in the Sept. 2023 release there was supposed to be a way to opt out of these notes, but I haven't seen how to delete them retroactively.

Thank you,
