A bit more background...

When you're working with a Community Zone electronic collection, you're always working with title-level records specifically in MARC format.

Most of the records in the CDI knowledgebase are for journal articles or book chapters, but in some cases, CDI records are for title-level content.

>From what I've seen, when Ex Libris can't get MARC records from a vendor, but they can get title-level records in some other format, they'll put those title-level records into the CDI knowledgebase.

I'll also mention that titles in video and audio formats don't have standardized identifiers like ISBNs and ISSNs. This means that metadata for things that aren't books or journals tends to be really messy and hard to deal with.

When Ex Libris first created CZ electronic collections for Films On Demand, the collections were originally database-type collections-- there were no title-level MARC records for the videos within the packages.

Ex Libris was able to get some kind of title-level records from Infobase to put into the Primo Central Index, which then got transferred to the CDI knowledgebase.

So in the past, Ex Libris couldn't provide title-level access via the CZ but they could provide it via the CDI knowledgebase.

Sometime within the last few years(?), Ex Libris added title-level MARC records to their electronic collections for Films On Demand in the CZ. (The records are pretty sparse though and are basically just the title and nothing else.)

Now the Ex Libris has title-level records in the CZ electronic collection, the CDI records for Films On Demand are overkill (and it sounds like they have bad metadata too).

So you probably want to *completely* deactivate CDI search settings for any Films On Demand electronic collections.

And once you deactivate the CDI search settings completely, it will take 3 days for Primo to re-index and remove the Films on Demand records from the CDI knowledgebase from its memory.

It will be ok!

Thank you Abby! This is great info! I will also try #2 and then wait for a bit.

If that doesn't work I wonder if deleting the collection entirely and then reactivating it might help...

CAUTION: This email came from a non-OC system or external source. Beware of phishing and social engineering!

We are having that problem, also! For the second time - we had a holdover CDI collection that was just giving a login page instead of behaving properly like the 'real and good' records were. Since last February, at least.

I put in a ticket (case 06725854) - they said last time that "Checking the question today, I believe that the issue was resolved after republishing in full to CDI. When I search today for cdi_infobase_filmsondemand_203121, it doesn't show as having full-text, in your Primo."

But then the problem showed up again this week, so I did another case (06675036 ) and here's what they said today: "The third result on the Primo page is for cdi_infobase_filmsondemand_138011. An analysis of the CDI Rights can be seen here: https://www.screencast.com/t/bJPKeiQ5pE.
It shows that the CDI results are seen thanks to "Films On Demand Master Academic Video Package". This is Electronic Collection ID 6159403680002827. If you do not wish results from CDI to show up, you can edit this Electronic Collection, and in the CDI tab, decide as follows:

1) If you find that results show up for portfolios that you do not own, select: "We subscribe to only some titles in this collection".

2) If you simply do not wish to see CDI results because the portfolios are good enough, select: " Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma".

So I tried to do #2, but the records are still showing. My thought is because that's the collection's CDI that's bad and not the portfolio itself. The rep said it could take up to 3 days, although I don't know if she did a republish again today.

CAUTION: This email originated from outside your organization. Exercise caution when opening attachments or clicking links, especially from unknown senders.

I have the "Films on Demand Master Academic Video Package" collection (Collection ID 6130556150002816) activated in Alma, with 40,002 portfolios.

We have some FOD videos that link properly from the Primo record such as: https://sbctc-olympic.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_OLYMPIC/bhnnv2/alma991301454202816
And some FOD videos that do not link properly from the Primo record such as: https://sbctc-olympic.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01STATEWA_OLYMPIC/1tve8k5/cdi_infobase_filmsondemand_57685

I can see from the URLs that there is a difference that is probably causing the issue but I don't understand CDI well enough to figure it out. Why don't the videos all have the same URL configuration if they are set up identically in the same collection, and both videos work properly when testing the portfolios links using the "Test Access" function in each portfolio in Alma?

Both of the portfolios are configured identically in their "General" and "Linking" tabs:

Thanks for any insight you can provide!
