[Wactclc-alma] [EXTERNAL] - Boost ranking for English language materials

Oh, I realized that title boost won't help, because of course the record will have the title in English in it somewhere, even if the source is in another language.
So much for a word-around.

Thanks Amy. I'm glad I wasn't just missing something obvious.
Maybe if I boosted the title matching that would do it, if the student enters a search word in English.
I'll try that, as well.

You might have to open a case? My impression is that we can only directly "control" only a very small part of the proprietary ranking algorithm.  I recently boosted keywords found in TITLE to 100 (from 3.5) and haven't noticed any real difference.  Although I did read that you can boost all the way up to 1,000,000!

Hi all,
I haven't been able to find the answer to this. I would like English language results to be ranked higher in the search results in Primo.
I can find ranking for 'language' but that appears to only be a keyword-match ranking, not a result list ranking.
I hope this makes sense. I do like having results in multiple languages, but when most (not all) of our students want English language materials and the top 5 books in a list are all German and Italian, it is frustrating.
Thanks for any thoughts!
