Hi Will,

I received an email from Gale with a link to confirm renewal. I did not click the renewal link since I thought this was handled through WSL. Also, the pricing was higher than I paid last year.

SDL 2023-2024 Renewal Announcement

The Statewide Database Licensing (SDL) project of the Washington State Library announces the annual renewal of the SDL package of Gale digital database resources for the July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024 subscription period. All WA non-profit public, academic, school, special, and government libraries are eligible to participate in this highly subsidized group purchase.

Gale, a Cengage Company<https://support.gale.com/wsl/> partners with libraries around the world to empower the discovery of knowledge and insights. The SDL project provides access to reputable, reliable digital content<https://www.galepages.com/wa2021/> through its partnership with Gale. Make an impact with resources that empower curious minds, turn research into results, and foster lifelong learning.

New participants are always welcome! The official renewal period runs through April 28, although new subscriptions will be accepted at any time. More information, including signup forms and other documents and links are available on the SDL project’s signup and renewal page<https://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/sdl/contract.aspx>.

Pricing for the 2023-2024 renewal remains unchanged from the previous year. Renewal is automatic for academic, public, and special libraries, unless a cancellation form<https://www.sos.wa.gov/_assets/library/libraries/projects/sdl/Cancellation_Form.pdf> is received by the end of the renewal period (April 28). K-12 school districts, individual schools (public or private) and their libraries, renew through their respective Educational Service Districts<https://www.sos.wa.gov/library/libraries/projects/sdl/esdcontacts.aspx>.

The SDL project is subsidized in part by federal LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act) funding provided by the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Library Development Program of the Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
