Traci,

The timing for when overdue and/or lost notices go out is completely separate from any grace period. You can control when you want your overdue notices to go out in Alma Config > Fulfillment > Physical Fulfillment > Overdue and Lost Loan Profile.

Each profile has a field where you enter the number of days after the due date when you want the Overdue or Lost notice to go out. You also have to check a button to tell Alma whether you want it to count calendar days or only days when the library is open (according to the Alma calendar).

We have our notices set to only send out emails, instead of printing, so I can't help with that part. :(

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] Lost Items Bill Questions

Good morning,

I reactivated some of our letters, so students would get notices when items weren't returned. I set up a 3-day grace period, after the items were all checked out. The notices were emailed to the students on the day they were due 12/18/20, but they didn't print. My questions are:

  1. Why did the email notice go out the day they were due and not after the 3-day grace period?
  2. Why did the notices not print?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Traci
