[Wactclc-alma] preferred email address

You can't have two preferred addresses, and the preferred address is the one to which library communications are sent.

Amy, if you want to have personal addresses set to preferred in the patron load, if a user has a personal address in ctcLink, you could talk to Adam Z about that scenario.

He could probably alter the code without too much trouble, but it would apply to all students in the load.

Hi Amy,

I think the answer to this is no, but I would love to hear otherwise.

We've had trouble with ctcLink loading emails correctly into Alma, and ctcLink also seems to allow more personal email addresses over school addresses. In fact, many of our students don't seem to have a Pierce College email even listed in ctcLink.

Is it possible to send notifications to patrons at BOTH of their email addresses if two are listed? Or must it only be to their "preferred" email address?

Context:
We have started our curbside pickup program. We've had a lot of requests, but so far no one has actually scheduled a pickup appointment. When the requested item is ready pulled and ready, they receive a "on hold shelf" notification to their preferred email address (by default it is the college email address for students in Alma) with instructions and the link for scheduling on pickup. I'm wondering if it would be more effective to send the notification to the other/personal email address if listed, or if possible to send to both email addresses simultaneously...

I did rename the subject line for the email notification to something like "Your library books are ready!" to try to encourage them to open the email :)
