[Wactclc-alma] PDA Profiles

Nicole,

I believe one way is from the PDA profile, but only if you are also cancelling the program. From the PDA profile, from the "..." menu, you can select 'cleanup' to remove any titles that aren't associated with a POL. BUT, that requires you to FIRST cancel that PDA profile. So, this would only be helpful if you are cancelling that PDA contract.

The other way would be to select "allow bibliographic deletions" in the relevant import profile. If Ebsco, in its MARC file updates, includes info about deletes as well as adds, that would work.

Otherwise, you'd just need to get info from them about which titles are no longer included in the PDA program, either in MARC or spreadsheet form. Then, you could either use an import profile to delete via MARC record matches, or create a managed set from record IDs, and use the withdraw titles job, to remove the stale records from Alma.

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] PDA Profiles

Does anyone use Alma's PDA feature? We do for our EBSCO/Gobi eBooks and have for a couple of years and it's worked fine. I am in need of deleting titles, but for most import profiles I set up a separate delete profile, mainly to keep things organized.
Using the PDA feature, I can't see a way to delete titles. I could set up a delete profile with all my other import profiles, but I don't know how that would work with the PDA account.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
