By "in house use", do you mean short term loans, like 2 hours, 4 hours, etc?

Typically, you'd have a fulfillment unit for short terms loans of that type. That fulfillment unit would include your course reserves locations. Best approach is to set up locations to differentiate materials by circulation period. So, you could have one location for 2 hour loans, one for 4 hour loans.etc.

Then, you'd have rules to assign an appropriate TOU to each combination of user group + location.

Subject: [Wactclc-alma] Instructor Course Reserves

I just noticed that our Course Reserves are using a Default Loan Rule; a Default Terms of Use, and the item policy for book.

Our Course Reserves are in house use only. What I am wondering, is should the Course Reserves have a separate ToU for in house only use? I looked that the Fulfillment Unit Rules on the Course Reserves, and there is a 2 day loan that is disabled, and a non-circulating (community borrowers) that is enabled.

Do I need to add a rule or item policy to reflect in house only use? Should I create a new loan period? I used the Fulfillment Configuration Utility, and it does show that a Course Reserve item is due the same day it is checked out, which is what we want.

Thanks,
Colleen
