Charly,

You bring up a good point about sending books through the mail.

Thanks for starting this conversation Traci, and thank you Kirsti for linking to those resources. I'm meeting with some campus stakeholders tomorrow to discuss circulation strategies during the closure and will share any interesting details from that discussion. The drive thru approach mentioned by Big Bend is interesting. A slightly open car window lends itself as a natural barrier similar to the plexiglass guards used in retail environments. I do have concerns about mailing items to students especially technology given the volatility of the postal service (understaffing and potential worker strikes) combined with opportunistic porch pirates.

Hello,

I don’t know if this is the proper thing to post here, but it is the easiest way to talk to everyone. It is a continuation of a topic we have discussed before, laptop checkouts and more. What is your library planning to do with the distribution of books, laptops, etc. to students for spring quarter? Will you be open with limited service prior to the quarter start? Do you have procedures in place for receiving books and laptops? What about quarantine? Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to email me directly.

Thanks,
Traci
