My apologies, I missed this one the August release notes.

If you look under:

Resources > Manage Inventory > My Electronic Resources by Provider

You can add your ProQuest Client ID, and check your activations.

This is a very nice enhancement. And sounds like they’re working on implementing for additional vendors.

Along with the “Upload Electronic Holdings” we’ve discussed, they’re definitely starting to build some more customer-aware ways of activating content.

Right after we got off the call yesterday, I read my “keeping up with Alma” notification widget. I activated two ProQuest collections that it listed but that we didn’t have active.

Weirdly though, when I go to My Electronic Resources by Provider it shows “Research Library” activated:

But if I look under my Electronic Collection, I still don’t have the portfolios listed in my “Research Library” tab:

Sorry, another note...

There were actually a number of ProQuest collection deletions that same week, as referenced in the CKB weekly update.

So, if your school has a number of ProQuest collections, I'd recommend reviewing the list for any others that might have been dropped that haven't been noticed as gone.

Also, in Alma, the 'Community Zone Update Task List' (that job that sometimes gets stuck) offers an ongoing log of changes to collections that you specifically have activated.

I did check in the CZUTL this morning, and it does contain an entry where ProQuest Research Library was dropped, on 7/10/2019.

And the CKB weekly updates show the Research Library collection added back in April.

So, it's just a change that we all missed.

And I guess, because of lower summer usage volume, no one noticed until coming back for the fall quarter.

Ran into it last week.  Activated the new collection and moved my POL—everything is good now.  I’m guessing we probably received a notice about it sometime in the past, but I don’t exactly pay attention to those.

At least of few of our institutions experienced a loss of all portfolios contained in the “ProQuest Research Library” collection recently, resulting in an empty collection. Not sure the exact date it occurred, but was just noticed yesterday.

I’m not sure why this happened, and not all institutions were affected.

I believe the issue may relate to how the collections were originally activated (from SFX) during implementation (approx. 2 years ago), and/or a loss of the link from the institutional zone to the CZ collection.

In any case, at those institutions, we are simply activating fresh the current ProQuest Research Library collection in the CZ, currently titled “Research Library”.

I’m only mentioning this issue in case anyone else ran into something similar. If so, I’d be interested to hear. Though it’s fairly easy to remedy.
