Rhonda,

Attached is the basic code for a scoped search form for BBCC.

The important elements in the code are the <form> and the <script>

The elements need to be worked styled into whatever web site on which you want to implement it.

In addition to a scoped search widget, Green River has also included a couple of hardcoded links  on their web portal as follows, with the respective URL for BBCC:

Hi Rhonda,

You’re on the right path. Those highlighted areas need your institution info. The first one is institution (as an Alma id), the second is this particular view. We can get this info by looking at the URL in your Primo.

Above those the form action link needs to also go to your institution too.

You’re probably already planning this, but since you are using LibGuides for your website, you can make a testing guide where you can create new search boxes and experiment with styling to get fine-tuned before replacing.

PS – A few tips for improving your library website visibility and findability. See if you can get your web folks to retire this page (https://www.bigbend.edu/bbcc-library/) and do a redirect (probably a 301, as a permanent redirect) to you current homepage. For me, this was the first Google result and I was scratching my head for a minute. Also see if they can include your libguides within the site search. This may be an easy fix, or not, depending on what tools they’re using for site search.

I am looking at Green River CC’s wonderful Library page.  I see their lux PRIMO search box and wondered where I would find my instution code that is in highlighted area.



Any suggestions for PRIMO search box building appreciated.



I guess there’s not a customizable ystem widget for this?  If so, point the way.
